During the course of the year, I had heard of some of the most noteworthy: Jerry Lee Lewis, Meat Loaf, Ronnie Spector, George Crumb, Taylor Hawkins, Naomi Judd, Christine McVie, Lamont Dozier, Pharaoh Sanders, Irene Cara.
But the one that hit me the most, I hadn’t heard of until I read through these lists: Alan White drummer for “Yes” after Bill Bruford departed. I spent many hours under headphones learning those drum parts.
