After almost a month on a food and wine excursion across Europe we returned to San Diego last night.
And what was my first meal stateside?
Why of course a Denny’s skillet breakfast. What else? I was craving diner food; and was it ever satisfying.
In matters of food, familiarity breeds contentment.

Surely you’re joking, Mr. Furrow! Let me amend your quaint confession. You were craving corporate diner food. And, in this case, corporate familiarity breeds contentment. Fair play?
I liked Denny’s when it was a donut shop, years before the Grand Slam era
I go there mainly for the people and ambience now that donuts are no longer a main feature.
