Budget Wine: Beringer Founder’s Estate Cabernet Sauvignon California 2013

beringer foundersBlack cherry, straightforward grapey notes, and licorice with raisin undercurrents, this is a ripe, fruity nose, with some gentle, dusty earth notes and slight oak aromas in the background.

Unfortunately, the promising nose is misleading. The palate has some intensity but with a slight chemical flavor. It doesn’t feel rich at all but just grates on the palate with significant acidity that isn’t integrated. The hard texture with  clunky tannins, and a finish on the edge of sour makes it hard to recommend this.

Score: 81

Price: $11 ave. but I found it for $6

Alc: 13.8%

So what hard rock band kinda sounds OK at first but then gets really annoying? Why of course:
