Merry Christmas and Good Eating

I am not a Christian, but for me the message of shared prosperity, peace, brotherhood and sisterhood articulated by the rebel of Galilee still resonates through the ages, in resolute contradiction to the spirit of our present age in which so-called “leaders” contemplate carpet bombing, walls on the border, and contempt for the poor.

This spirit  of reconciliation and shared bounty is best symbolized by the Christmas feast that conjures hope that regardless of the miles, walls, or mental boundaries that separate us, “good will toward men (and women)” will win out.

This lament by Chrissie Hynde is for all the lost souls whose Christmas star is only a faint glow on the horizon

  1. Dwight– Glad to hear you a sober person of good conscience.  Many who are passionate about wine ignore its attributes of bringing people together and sharing.  I have consumed wine happily and successfully with many mean spirited religionists and non-believers by avoiding those topics that divide us.  I wish I didn’t have to because those can be the most stimulating, intellectually challenging and fun wine evenings, where neither side has to suppress their deep beliefs about humanity and can illuminate the other sincerely instead of out of a desire to vanquish them.

I appreciate your humanistic and humble appreciation of all people.  Jim Ruxin Village Wine of Brentwood Representing Fine Cellars +01 310-471-7372 office +01 310-617-7372 mobile
